Roble Chairs 2-Day National Consultative Forum

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, fresh from his official visit to Egypt, chaired the 2-day National Consultative Council Forum.

The forum ran from Saturday to Sunday, August 21-22.

It took place in Mogadishu.

Participants included representatives from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), Federal Member States (FMS), and other stakeholders.

The purpose of the forum was to discuss Somalia’s preparations for the remaining elections; that is, parliamentary and presidential.

Somalia has already held elections for the Upper House seats at the regional state level.

Southwest and Puntland are the only regional states to have completed their Upper House elections. Jubaland and Galmudug have held partial polls while HirShabelle is yet to start the process.
