Roble Congratulates Barre on being Sworn-In as Incoming Prime Minister

Mohamed Hussein Roble has congratulated Hamza Abdi Barre on being sworn-in as the new Prime Minister of Somalia.

Roble, who has been serving as the 20th Prime Minister for the last two years, has now left the seat to Barre.

Consequently, Barre becomes the 21st Prime Minister.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed him the new Prime Minister on June 15.

The President, who had won the May 15 presidential elections, nominated Barre. At the time, Barre had been one of the newly elected legislators in the federal parliament.

Outgoing premier Roble congratulated the 220 legislators of the House of the People who approved Barre’s appointment as Prime Minister on Saturday, June 25.

He urged all Somalis to support Prime Minister Barre and enable him to discharge his constitutional mandate successfully.
