Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble held a meeting with elders from the Banadir region to discuss transparency of the ongoing elections for federal parliamentary seats.
The Prime Minister met with the elders on January 29 at his office.
Most of the elders were from the Banaadiriga tribes.
Several stakeholders, including political parties and candidates, have voiced their concerns regarding the transparency of the Banadir elections.
Representatives from the regional State Elections Implementation Team (SEIT) attended Saturday’s meeting.
Members of the Federal Electoral Commission as well as those from the Dispute Resolution Committee were also at the meeting.
