Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble held elections talks with the President and Vice President of the semiautonomous state of Puntland.
Roble’s discussions with President Said Abdullahi Deni and Vice President Ahmed Karaash took place in Garowe, the administrative capital of the state.
The Prime Minister discussed other issues of importance to Garowe and Mogadishu.
These included the need for improved relations and cooperation between Puntland and the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
The three leaders also discussed social services needed in Puntland.
A week ago, President Deni and President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland discussed the conditions that the government has to meet before elections take place in their states.
Consequently, Roble announced on December 7 that he would embark on a tour of the five Federal Member States (FMS) to discuss their views on elections.
He has kicked off his tour of the regional states in Puntland on Friday, December 11.
