The Somali Journalists Syndicate (SJS) has asked authorities in the country to release Mohamed Bulbul from police custody.
SJS issued a statement on Tuesday regarding the experience that Bulbul underwent on Tuesday.
In the statement, SJS stated that authorities rushed the journalist to Benadir Regional Court early in the day without informing his lawyers or family.
Bulbul has been in police custody for days now.
No formal proceedings occurred, though.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) mentioned that they had not concluded their investigations on Bulbul’s matter.
Bulbul is now back at Hamar Jajab Police Station.
