The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has prepared alternative land for the hundreds of bodies that will be exhumed from the largest cemetery in Mogadishu.
Hassan Sheikh Ali Moallim, the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, confirmed this while on a visit to Baydhabo town.
Moallim indicated that the government had already identified the alternative land where those whose loved ones are exhumed from the Mogadishu cemetery can be re-buried.
He hit out at those opposed to the exhumation.
Opposition parties have been at the forefront of criticizing the decision by the government to order families to exhume their loved ones.
The minister accused the opposition of “irresponsible criticism” and “misuse of the public’s attention.”
