President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia discussed security concerns in the region with the United States Secretary of State.
The President discussed the matter on phone with Blinken.
In his telephone conversation with Blinken, the President briefed him on the importance of reducing regional tensions.
Their discussions also focused on counterterrorism objectives.
President Mohamud and Blinken further spoke on plans for the mission that will take over security functions from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
