Mogadishu, Somalia – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamid Al Thani in Doha on Saturday to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in infrastructure, security, and diplomacy.
The President briefed the Emir on Somalia’s current situation, focusing on development initiatives, state-building efforts, counter-terrorism measures, and the implementation of a direct election system based on the one person, one vote model.
In response, Emir Al Thani reaffirmed Qatar’s consistent support for Somalia and its government.
