Somali Soldiers Training in Turkey Will Now Learn Turkish Too

Somali soldiers undergoing military training in Turkey are now expected to also learn the Turkish language.

Turkish military instructors have added the language as part of the requirements that Somali soldiers must satisfy before graduating.

The Turkish language will be available to all Somali soldiers training at the Commando Training Center in Isparta, Turkey.

Additionally, it would be available to soldiers from Somalia undertaking their military courses at Camp TurkSom.

Camp TurkSom is in Mogadishu, Somalia.

It both acts as a defense university and a Turkish military base.

The soldiers at the two training institutions would now take six months to learn the Turkish language.

Experts concluded that the Turkish instructors training Somali soldiers have a limited grasp of English and Somali.
