Somalia and Other African Countries to Receive Free Grain from Russia

Somalia and other African nations are to receive free grain from Russia.

President Vladimir Putin announced this during the ongoing Africa-Russia summit at St. Petersburg, Moscow on Thursday.

Putin announced that the grains would be delivered to six African countries.

Apart from Somalia, other African nations that will receive the 25,000-50,000 tons of grains are Zimbabwe, Mali, Burkina Faso, Eritrea, and the Central African Republic (CAR).

Nevertheless, Putin ruled out Russia rejoining the Black Sea Grain Initiative despite pleas from the African Union.
