Somalia Confirms 23 New COVID-19 Cases

Somalia’s Ministry of Health has confirmed 23 new COVID-19 cases around the country.

The health ministry recorded this new number from samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Two of the new cases were reported in Benadir region. Puntland was responsible for 11 with Somaliland confirming 10.

Further, the health ministry clarified that 20 of the new patients are male while the remaining three are female.

Somalia recorded 443 recoveries and reported no new deaths from the latest figures.

Consequently, the East African country now has 3,250 cases around the country that include 2,268 recoveries and 93 deaths.

The health ministry urges Somalis in the country to continue observing the recommended protocols to curb the spread of the disease.
