Somalia expects Ethiopia to withdraw all its forces from the country by December 31, 2024.
Hussein Sheikh-Ali, the National Security Advisor, said that Somalia will not allow Ethiopian forces to remain anywhere in the country after from January next year.
He added that Ethiopia will not be part of any force that takes over from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
ATMIS will withdraw its forces completely from Somalia by the end of this year.
Sheikh-Ali also mentioned that Somalia has been negotiating with international partners on bringing multinational forces to the country to take over from ATMIS.
