Somalia has denied reports that it has been using Turkish drones in the ongoing war against terrorism.
Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, the federal Minister of Defense, denied these reports in a media interview on Tuesday.
He added that whoever has been spreading such reports is guilty of misleading the public.
“Bayrakatar drones from Turkey have never been part of the arsenal that the military uses in the operations against Al-Shabaab,” Nur stated.
During the interview, Nur added that the military has only been using drones operated by the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM).
