Somalia Records 110 New COVID-19 Cases

On August 10, Somalia’s Ministry of Health reported 110 new cases from samples tested in the last 24 hours.

A statement from the health ministry said that 1,636 samples had been tested in the last 24 hours.

Banadir was responsible for 78 of the new cases. Puntland followed with 22 while Galmudug and Somaliland had six and four cases respectively.

Moreover, 58 of the cases were male while the remaining 52 were female.

The health ministry also reported 32 new recoveries and five fresh deaths from the deadly pandemic, which the country first recorded in March 2020.

Consequently, the number of cases recorded in the East African nation currently stands at 16,039. Total recoveries are 7,815 while 863 people have lost their lives to the disease.
