Somalia Seeks Assistance over El Nino Floods

Somalia seeks assistance from the international community over the El Nino rains and floods.

Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama chaired a national meeting on the effect of the El Nino floods around the country.

The rains create floods that have caused untold suffering all over Somalia.

Over 40 people have lost their lives while close to 600,000 fled their homes in search of safer grounds from the dreaded floods.

The Deputy Prime Minister urged locals to stay away from rivers.

Currently, rivers around the country are close to bursting after their water levels rose to unimaginable levels over the last few days.
