Somalia, UNDP Approve 2025 Police Reform Plan

Mogadishu – Somalia’s Federal Minister of Internal Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, and UNDP Somalia Representative Lionel Laurens co-chaired the Joint Police Programme II (JPP II) Steering Committee meeting on Tuesday in Mogadishu.

The committee approved the 2025 Workplan and Budget, focusing on advancing security sector reforms, fostering inclusivity, and boosting community engagement across the country.

The JPP II initiative, backed by the European Union and the United Kingdom, is a key pillar in Somalia’s efforts to build professional, accountable, and community-centered police services.
