Consequently, humans and livestock have been hit hard by the serious of such a precious commodity.
Somalia is currently awaiting the onset of the rainy season, which usually kicks off in April but seems to be delayed this year.
With the severe lack of water, experts believe the region is ripe for waterborne diseases.
They also warn that locals could be exposed to the deadly COVID-19 disease whose spread can be curbed with regular washing of hands with soap and water.
