Somalia’s newly appointed Prime Minister paid a courtesy call to the Speaker of the Senate (Upper House).
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre visited Upper House Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi on Thursday, June 16.
Their meeting took place at Speaker Hashi’s office in Mogadishu.
Barre was appointed the new Prime Minister on June 15.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud announced the appointment on Wednesday evening almost a month after he won the presidential elections on May 15.
Speaker Hashi congratulated Barre on his appointment as the new Prime Minister.
Hashi wished Prime Minister Barre success as he embarks on his new role under the leadership of President Mohamud.
