Somaliland Mourns the Death of Kuwait’s Sheikh Sabah

Somaliland has mourned the death of Kuwait’s leader, Sheikh Sabah. Sheikh Sabah died in the United States on Tuesday, September 29.

Bashe Awil Omar, the Head of Somaliland’s Liaison Office in Nairobi, described Sabah as the “father of humanity.”

Furthermore, Omar commended the role that Sheikh Sabah had played in the creation of Somaliland as a state.

He stated that Sabah had always responded to Somaliland’s call for help.

Sabah is one of Somaliland’s most loyal friends. He never stopped getting involved in the crisis between Mogadishu and Hargeisa.

Somaliland has sought international recognition since 1991 when it broke free from Somalia.
