President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland received the historic COVID-19 vaccine on March 23.
Bihi became the first person in Somaliland to be inoculated for the deadly COVID-19 disease.
He was vaccinated a few days after the breakaway nation of Somaliland received the first doses of the vaccine from COVAX.
After receiving the vaccine, President Bihi declared the vaccination campaign officially launched.
Health officials are now expected to travel around the country vaccinating frontline workers and the elderly individuals.
