The regional state of Southwest conducted elections for the last seven House of the People (Lower House) seats.
The elections for the seven Members of Parliament (MPs) took place on Tuesday, March 15.
Consequently, Southwest becomes the latest regional state to conclude elections for all its Lower House legislators.
The deadline for the federal parliament lawmakers was today, March 15.
Southwest would now be represented in Mogadishu by its full rota of 69 legislators.
Today’s elections took place in Baidoa. Two women MPs were among the seven elected today.
