Tens of Social Media Users in Mogadishu Arrested for Indecent Acts

Tens of social media users in Mogadishu are in police custody after they were arrested for posting indecent acts.

Mogadishu police arrested 40 social media users in a crackdown conducted on Friday.

A statement from the Benadir Regional Police Command shows that the users were arrested for “disrupting public order” and “spreading immorality.”

Most of those arrested are quite prominent on TikTok.

Police said they would not relent on the fight against immorality because of their belief in the important role that the government plays in building social order.
