Mogadishu – Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced Thursday the successful completion of a 234-day seismic survey in Somali waters by the Oruç Reis vessel.
The operation covered 4,464 square kilometers, collecting 3D seismic data expected to significantly impact regional maritime assessments and resource exploration.
Bayraktar hailed the mission as a milestone in Turkey’s energy strategy and a major contribution to Somalia’s economic sovereignty. The vessel is scheduled to depart Mogadishu on June 15, returning to Turkey with the survey’s critical findings.
