Two huge blasts were heard in Somalia’s Wallaweyn district, which is about 90kms away from Mogadishu, the country’s capital.
Initial reports from witnesses and security authorities indicate the landmines targeted government troops in the region.
According to security officers, three civilians lost their lives as the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blasted through the neighborhood.
Several soldiers suffered injuries and are now at an unnamed hospital receiving treatment.
