The World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Union Delegation in Somalia commissioned two planes to airlift emergency medical kits to HirShabelle.
The two flights flew to the semiautonomous region of HirShabelle on September 17 and 21.
HirShabelle state has been grappling with humanitarian crises for several months now because of the COVID-19 pandemic, floods, and locust invasion.
Furthermore, a recent study by WHO discovered that the state has a huge population of vulnerable people.
The two organizations announced that the emergency medical kits and supplies are for treating people affected by the ongoing flash floods in the region.
