Uganda Airlines has announced a resumption of its flights to the Somalia capital of Mogadishu.
The airlines suspended its flights to Somalia at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.
At the time, the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) imposed a ban on all domestic and international flights to and from Somalia.
Uganda Airlines had no choice than to comply with the ban.
However, in early August, the Somali government lifted some of the COVID-19 restrictions thereby allowing flights into the country.
Consequently, the Ugandan flight carrier has resumed direct flights between Entebbe and Mogadishu.
