A top United Nations diplomat has urged international partners to stand in solidarity with Somalia.
Kiki Gbeho, the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, said this when she addressed the UN Security Council (UNSC) on February 23.
Specifically, she encouraged the international community to support Somalia in handling its emerging humanitarian needs.
The UN diplomat added that over 8.3 million people in Somalia need humanitarian and security assistance following the ongoing drought.
