The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) will lead the assessment of civil registration and vital statistics in Somaliland.
UNFPA announced its plans in this regard on Wednesday.
It stated the reasons for the exercise.
These include the need to understand the scope, coverage, and status of such information.
UNFPA would not work alone, though.
Instead, it would liaise with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health Development.
UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) will be involved in the exercise too.
