UNSC to Issue Report on Las Anod Clashes

The United Nations is expected to issue a report on Las Anod clashes.

Initially, the UN Security Council (UNSC) was to release the report on Friday last week. However, that never happened.

Instead, reports from New York indicate that it would do so any moment this week.

UNSC members have spent much of the past 20 days discussing and debating the latest developments in the clash-ridden region.

Insiders believe that UNSC would call for a cessation of all hostilities in Las Anod in its report.

The Las Anod clashes have displaced over 400,000 people. Over 60,000 individuals have been forced to flee to the neighboring countries such as Ethiopia.
