The United States urged leaders in Somalia to ensure that the ongoing constitutional review process is as inclusive as possible.
Shane L. Dixon, the Charge d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Mogadishu, said this when he held talks with ex-President Sharif Ahmed.
Dixon and ex-President Ahmed met on Wednesday.
They also took the opportunity to discuss a raft of regional matters. Security-related issues featured in their discussions too.
Dixon assured Ahmed that the US supports an inclusive review process.
He stated that all stakeholders deserve an opportunity to make their voices heard thus ensuring that the new constitution would have input from everyone.
