The United States has expressed its increasing concern over the ongoing violence in Las Anod.
In a statement released on March 30, the US Department of State publicized its concern with the continuing violence in Las Anod.
Las Anod has been in conflict for the last few weeks.
The conflict has led to the deaths and displacement of thousands of residents.
Vedant Patel, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Department of State, expressed the government’s displeasure with the Las Anod situation.
Patel called for adherence to the ceasefire that all sides agreed to and signed.
Furthermore, the US advised President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland to pull back his country’s forces from Las Anod as proof of commitment to peace and ceasefire.
