The leader of the opposition Wadajir Party has urged the people of Somalia to “fund and own” his campaign for presidential elections.
Abdirahman Abdishakur, Wadajir Party leader, has announced his candidature for the upcoming presidential elections in the East African nation.
On January 7, Abdishakur issued a rallying call to Somalis to support and fund him as he launches his campaign soon.
While issuing the call for support, Abdishakur said that there is need to move away from and -beyond “foreign intervention and decision-making with foreigners.”
He reminded Somalis of the incredible potential they possess to make their own decisions devoid of any foreign influence.
Somalia is scheduled to hold presidential elections in February 2021 when President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s term expires.
