The Court of Appeal in Benadir Region acquitted two federal government employees of the corruption charges filed against them.
On Tuesday, the court said that there was no case against the two former directors at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
Sayid Ali Mohamed, the Chairman of the Court of Appeal, said that judges considered the evidence against Mohamed Adde Mukhtar and Abdullahi Mohamed Ali exhaustively.
According to Sayid, the evidence was insufficient to prove that Mukhtar and Abdullahi were guilty of the crimes they are accused of committing while in office.
Consequently, the Court of Appeal ordered the relevant authorities to not only set the two ex-government employees free but also to release them with immediate effect.
