President Muse Bihi Abdi has spoken of the importance of timely elections in Somaliland.
Further, President Bihi assured the public of his commitment to ensuring that Somaliland’s presidential elections would be based on the party system.
He was speaking at a press conference held in Hargeisa on Wednesday.
He added that Somaliland cannot afford to go through every five years without holding parliamentary or presidential elections.
His comments come just when he has extended his term in office by two more years.
