Cyclone Laly might not be as dangerous to Somalia as initially thought.
Mahamuud Moallim, the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) Commissioner, declared this on Thursday.
Commissioner Moallim attributed this to the reduced power and speed of Cyclone Laly.
He stated that the Cyclone, which is expected in the coastal areas of the southern parts of the country, has slowed its speed significantly.
Nevertheless, he urged residents of these areas to remain on high alert.
