Deadly Clashes Erupt in Mogadishu

Deadly clashes erupted in Mogadishu on the night of April 25 reportedly between government troops and mutinous soldiers.

Sources claim that the mutinous soldiers were against the recent extension of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s term by a further two years.

Earlier, the mutineers left their military bases in Middle Shabelle and traveled to Somalia’s capital.

They then took control of several key villages, including Sana and Fagah.

Government troops loyal to Farmaajo’s administration then engaged the mutineers in several parts of the capital city on Sunday night.

It is not clear whether the clashes left any casualties behind.
