Deputy UN Envoy to Somalia Visits Drought-Stricken Families

Adam Abdelmoula, the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General to Somalia, visited drought-stricken families in the country.

Abdelmoula visited the families on December 8.

During his visit, he discussed the situation with local leaders as well as the representatives of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

Abdelmoula confirmed that several interlocutors stated that the situation is direr than anything ever witnessed in Somalia since 1974.

He called for urgent intervention to prevent the situation from worsening.

The UN Deputy Special Representative spent several hours in Garbahaarey.
