A former President of the Federal Republic of Somalia has said that Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has powers to sack the Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
Ex-President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said this on September 8.
His comments followed the recent decision by the Prime Minister to sack Fahad Yasin, the immediate former Director of NISA.
Roble’s decision had come under intense scrutiny by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, who called it “unconstitutional.”
According to ex-President Mohamud, the Prime Minister is in charge of all security organs in the East African nation.
Consequently, it’s upon him to change the leadership of these organs as he deems fit.
