Favori LLC has been blasted for a letter it wrote to security personnel working at the facilities that it operates.
In the letter dated June 7, the management of Favori request security personnel to stand when “a manager passes” next to them as a “sign of respect.”
The leaked letter has attracted the wrath of several top leaders and human rights activists in the East African nation.
According to them, Favori is guilty of passing across a “very disturbing message.”
Most of the firm’s security workers are of a Somali origin.
Consequently, the firm has demonstrated that it does not respect Somali workers. The firm is guilty of treating its Somali staff with “indignity.”
Furthermore, the firm’s approach of “dehumanizing” its Somali workers should not be tolerated.
The relevant Federal Government of Somalia ministries have been requested to look into the matter quickly.
Mid this year, Favori was in the news when its workers operating at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu went on strike to protest “mistreatment” by management.
