The Governor of the Gedo region is reportedly in hospital receiving treatment for wounds sustained in an Al-Shabaab attack.
Reports from the region show that Governor Ahmed Buule was injured when the terrorists attacked a house hosting a crucial meeting.
The meeting, which was taking place in the house at Bardhere town, had to be called off in the ensuing melee.
Officers from the federal and regional governments were in the building discussing security-related matters when Al-Shabaab fighters attacked on Tuesday.
