The regional states of Jubbaland and HirShabelle have received essential foodstuff from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
Jubbaland and HirShabelle received the foodstuff on August 11.
The federal government dispatched the essential food items on a plane that departed the Aden Adde International Airport on Thursday.
According to sources, the essential foodstuffs are earmarked for Jubbaland’s Afmadow district.
Residents of Mahas, a district in HirShabelle, would also benefit from the food supply.
The federal government announced that the food items dispatched to the two areas are part of the emergency drought response it is carrying out.
