Somalia to Implement Emergency Plans to Help Drought-Affected People

Somalia plans to introduce emergency plans to help people affected by the ongoing drought.

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre announced the plans on August 12.

Farhan Jimale, the Official Government Spokesperson, announced the plans by the Prime Minister on Thursday.

Jimale said that the Somali Prime Minister and his cabinet intend to discuss and introduce the new emergency plans as soon as possible.

Somalia is facing what is fast becoming a massive humanitarian crisis.

Many Somalis around the country are unable to feed their families. Livestock is also dying while crop failure has turned into a nightmare.
