More than 100 suspected cases of cholera are currently admitted at Barawe Hospital in the regional state of Southwest.
The region’s Ministry of Health and Human Services confirmed that the number of admissions have been on the increase since June this year.
Consequently, authorities have issued a health alert to local residents.
Furthermore, a call has been issued to stakeholders for the mobilization of emergency response teams and supplies.
Somali Relief and Care Organization (SRCO) called for access to safe water and sanitation in vulnerable communities.
