President Said Abdullahi Deni attended the burial of General Khalif Isse Mudan, Puntland’s security advisor.
General Mudan’s burial took place on Friday, November 27.
He was buried in Garowe in a ceremony attended by several dignitaries, including senior officials of the regional government.
President Deni addressed the gathering of mourners and told them that Puntland had lost “a great man” and “veteran leader.”
General Mudan had served as the Commander of Somali Air Force (SAF).
He also worked as the Minister of Security in the Puntland administration before serving as President Deni’s security advisor prior to his death earlier this week.
