Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud inaugurated the first International Agri-Value Chain Conference.
The President Inaugurated the conference on Monday jointly with the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Somalia, Karin Johansson.
The event aims to foster sustainable agricultural development in Somalia by bringing together stakeholders, including farmers, businesses, and experts, to explore opportunities in agricultural value chains.
The conference focuses on enhancing food security, boosting local production, and building resilient supply chains to improve the livelihoods of rural communities.
This initiative is aligned with Somalia’s broader goals of achieving self-sufficiency in food production and reducing dependency on imports.
It also highlights the government’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector through innovation and international partnerships.
