Roble Assures Turkish and Qatari Envoys of Improved Security for Somalia Projects

Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble met with the Turkish and Qatari envoys in Mogadishu on January 13.

On Wednesday, Roble hosted envoys from the two nations in his office in the nation’s capital.

During the meeting, Roble spoke with Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, Mehmet Yilmaz, about the recent terror incident that left two workers from Turkey dead.

Hassan Bin Hamza, the Qatari Ambassador to Somalia, also attended Wednesday’s meeting with Prime Minister Roble and Ambassador Yilmaz.

Earlier this month, Turkish and Somali workers who are part of the team constructing Mogadishu-Afgoye Road were attacked in a deadly incident.

Four people, including the two Turkish workers, lost their lives in the incident.

Turkey and Qatar remain two of Somalia’s most important international and development partners with investments in wide-ranging sectors and projects.
