Somali National Army (SNA) has killed 28 Al-Shabaab militants in an operation carried out in Middle Shabelle.
The government troops have been in the region for some time now carrying multiple military offensives against the terrorists.
SNA carried out the operation in Adan Yabaal’s Juhay village on Wednesday.
Local clan militia supported SNA forces in the operation.
Al-Shabaab fighters found the joint operation by SNA and the local community too powerful for their liking.
The operation took place the same day that Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre visited the town.
He commended the local community and SNA troops for working together to carry out successful operations against the militants.
