The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) supports investigation into the possible diversion of aid funds from the United Nations.
Recently, there have been reports of possible diversion of funds meant for humanitarian aid in the East African nation.
The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has already announced and commenced investigations into the matter.
On Monday, SODMA stated that it supports the establishment of a joint task force between the UN and the Somali government.
The investigations follow a recent internal UN report that hinted at the likelihood of aid diversion.
“Diversion of aid funds undermines humanitarian operations in the country,” reiterated Mahamuud Moallim, the SODMA Commissioner.
