The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has set aside a budget of $2 million to enhance food security in the country.
The funds will be channeled toward this noble cause through the Somali Seed Systems Recovery Initiative (SSSRI).
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, the program is to run for the next two years.
Through the funds and SSSRI, Somalia seeks to boost the system for supplying seeds nationally.
It also endeavors to develop the types of crops that are capable of adapting to the effects of climate change in Somalia.
