Somali leaders have been urged to unite in the fight against Al-Shabaab.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia appealed to the country’s leaders to rally behind the ongoing efforts to eradicate the terrorists.
In recent months, the Somali military has joined forces with local communities to fight Al-Shabaab.
Thus far, their efforts have been quite effective.
The President issued this appeal on December 28 when he addressed the National Consultative Council (NCC).
NCC brings together leaders from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS).
Other leaders at the meeting included Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and Salah Jama, the Deputy Prime Minister.
